Our client, a leading towing, U-Haul, and fleet management company, is seeking a Transportation Fleet Manager. In this role, you will oversee dispatch, fleet safety, driver safety, and training. You will directly manage a dispatch team of 6-9 individuals and have indirect oversight of approximately 65 drivers. Responsibilities include managing dispatch operations, coordinating communication with drivers and customers, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and driving continuous improvement across the company.
Work Setup:
- No remote work
- Primarily Monday-Friday, with shifts like 6-3, 7-4, or 8-5
- Occasional weekend work (Saturday or Sunday) may be needed for driver training or special events
Responsibilities:
- Manage dispatch operations and driver training
- Oversee driver and fleet safety
- Communicate with customers, drivers, and other departments
- Monitor performance and adjust workloads as necessary
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations
- Hire, train, and manage dispatch staff
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in dispatch or fleet management
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Teams
- TowBooks experience and CDL-A license preferred
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- 2 years of experience managing drivers, driver safety, and driver training
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
