Our client, a leading law firm is seeking a skilled Personal Injury Paralegal to join its legal team in Eatontown, NJ. The ideal candidate will assist attorneys in all aspects of personal injury cases from inception through settlement or trial. This role requires a proactive individual with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of legal procedures related to personal injury claims.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial client interviews and gather case facts and documents.
- Manage client communications and provide updates on case progress.
- Assist with the preparation and filing of legal documents such as complaints, motions, and pleadings.
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are accurately indexed and accessible.
- Coordinate and schedule depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings.
- Conduct legal research and prepare summaries of findings for attorneys.
- Assist in drafting correspondence, settlement demands, and discovery requests/responses.
- Prepare exhibits and evidence for trial, and assist during trial proceedings.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to ethical standards.
Requirements:
- 3 years of prior experience working in a personal injury law firm
- Proven experience as a paralegal in personal injury law.
- Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Paralegal certification preferred.
- Proficiency in legal research, document management software, and MS Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Knowledge of state and federal court rules and procedures.
