Summary:
Seeking an engineer with experience in materials testing to support the evaluation of various material systems for adhesion, density, and other properties. The role involves preparing test specimens, executing standard and custom test methods, analyzing data, collaborating with stakeholders, and documenting results. The ideal candidate has a strong background in materials science, mechanical testing, data analysis, and communications.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and condition test specimens according to specifications
Perform adhesion testing using standard methods (e.g., lap shear, peel, tensile)
Operate and maintain testing equipment such as universal testing machines, environmental chambers, and measurement tools
Record and analyze test data, ensuring accuracy and repeatability
Utilize data analysis tools such as statistics, curve fitting, or other techniques to better understand results
Document procedures, observations, and results in detailed technical reports
Collaborate with internal engineers to refine test methods and interpret results
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace
Qualifications:
Experience in materials testing, preferably with polymers, coatings, or adhesives
Familiarity with adhesion test methods (e.g., ASTM, ISO standards)
Proficiency in data analysis and technical report writing
Hands-on experience with mechanical testing equipment such as Instron's
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
