Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Technical Writer to document and standardize IT infrastructure processes, ensuring critical knowledge is captured and easily accessible. The primary responsibility is to develop a Field IT Playbook that includes process flows, best practices, and infrastructure setup guidelines for multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create comprehensive, well-structured documentation for IT infrastructure, including networking, field IT operations, and cabling standards.
- Develop clear process flows and best practices for communications rooms (comms rooms), infrastructure setup, and IT operations.
- Conduct interviews with subject matter experts (SMEs) to extract critical insights and translate them into user-friendly documentation.
- Organize information into a structured, easy-to-follow Field IT Playbook for new hires and field IT personnel.
- Document best practices for IT infrastructure planning in construction and remodel projects.
- Continuous Improvement: Maintain and update documentation as processes evolve.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5 years in a Technical Writing role with experience IT infrastructure, networking, and field IT operations.
- Proven ability to create structured technical documents, playbooks, and process flows.
- Ability to effectively interview SMEs and extract key knowledge.
- Experience working with IT teams and field personnel to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Experience with IT infrastructure documentation in enterprise or multi-site environments.
- Familiarity with field IT operations and on-site infrastructure setups.
- Background in technical writing, knowledge management, or IT operations.
