THE ROLE: The RV Prep Manager oversees the preparation and final detailing of recreational vehicles before delivery to customers or the front line for sale. This role ensures all pre-delivery inspections (PDIs), repairs, cleanings, and installations are completed on time and to quality standards. The Prep Manager leads a team of prep technicians and works closely with service advisors, technicians, parts, and sales departments to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Manage day-to-day operations of the RV prep department, including scheduling and task assignment for prep technicians.
- Oversee pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) to ensure RVs are clean, safe, and fully operational before delivery or front-line display.
- Coordinate workflow between departments (service, parts, and sales) to ensure timely vehicle readiness.
- Maintain quality control standards, inspecting units post-prep for cleanliness, mechanical completeness, and cosmetic condition.
- Ensure all add-ons or customer-requested installs (e.g., hitches, awnings, appliances) are completed correctly and on schedule.
- Train and mentor prep staff to uphold safety and performance standards.
- Manage supply and equipment inventory, placing orders as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Track prep performance metrics (cycle times, rework rates, etc.) and identify areas for improvement.
- Communicate regularly with management on prep status, staffing needs, and department performance.
WHAT YOU CAN BRING TO THE TABLE:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school experience preferred.
- 3 years of experience in RV service, automotive prep/detailing, or similar role.
- Prior team leadership or management experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of RV systems and features is a plus.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in both indoor and outdoor conditions.
