Job description
Blue Cow Ice Cream, Co. is seeking a team member to join our culinary production team in Roanoke, Virginia.
As a member of our culinary team, you will work under the direction of our Production Manager to create, store and deliver ice creams and bakery products according to our recipes and standards. You’ll train throughout our kitchen to best support operations and will be integral to ensuring our retail shops and teams are successful.
Position Summary: support production in all activities, including, but not limited to:
- Produce products according to the daily production schedule, following recipes and protocols
- Follow GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) to maintain a clean and organized workspace and production environment, follow food safety measures and health code regulations, complete daily cleaning duties
- Organize and move raw and finished goods inventory

Key Responsibilities:
Baking / Prep Kitchen
- Possess general baking skills, follow recipes to produce baked goods and confections in large batches
- Operate production equipment including stand mixers, ovens, cooktops etc.
- Store and label finished products in designated containers and locations, maintain organization and sanitization of coolers and supply rooms
- Hand cut, break up or chop ingredients needed for ice cream production
- Follow food safety and sanitation measures
Ice Cream Making
- Use production equipment to make and package products following recipes explicitly
- Move and organize finished goods to cold storage
- Keep detailed production and inventory records
- Ensure the kitchen and your individual workstation is organized, safe and sanitary.
- Clean and sanitize production equipment and other small wares used during production
- Other duties as needed
Qualifications:
- 2 years experience in food manufacturing or faced paces production kitchen environment
- Open availability to work up to an 8 hour shift 5 days a week (Monday - Friday) with availability to work weekends as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Clean driving record and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
