We're looking for a Director of Leasing who will drive the leasing strategy for our portfolio of commercial properties. This role will be responsible for identifying, recruiting, and securing high-quality tenants, negotiating lease agreements, and maximizing occupancy and rental income. The ideal candidate has strong industry knowledge, excellent negotiation skills, and a proven track record in commercial leasing. Job Responsibilities
Leasing Strategy & Execution:
Develop and implement leasing strategies to optimize tenant mix, occupancy rates, and rental income.- Identify and attract prospective tenants through market research, networking, and marketing initiatives.
- Manage lease renewals, expansions, and tenant retention efforts.
- Collaborate with asset management and property management teams to align leasing strategies with business goals.
Tenant Relations & Lease Negotiations:
Negotiate lease terms, conditions, and rental rates to maximize profitability while meeting market demands.- Conduct site tours and present available spaces to potential tenants and brokers.
- Build and maintain relationships with tenants, ensuring high satisfaction and engagement.
- Address tenant inquiries and coordinate with property management to resolve issues efficiently.
Market Analysis & Business Development:
Conduct market research to analyze trends, competitor activity, and demand for commercial spaces.- Maintain a strong network of brokers, developers, and industry professionals to generate leads.
- Provide regular reports on leasing activity, market conditions, and financial performance.
Financial & Operational Oversight:
Collaborate with finance and asset management teams to set rental rates and budget projections.- Monitor lease expirations, rent escalations, and occupancy rates to ensure optimal financial performance.
- Ensure all leasing activities comply with company policies, legal requirements, and industry best practices.
Who We Need
Qualifications required for your success:
- 5 years of experience in commercial real estate leasing, with a strong track record in office, retail, industrial, and mixed-use properties.
- Proven success in leading and developing cross-functional teams across diverse property types. Previous experience scaling teams preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of lease agreements, financial analysis, and real estate market trends.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Real estate license preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office as well as ability to learn and use CRM, computer systems and databases.
- Ability to multitask and work on a large quantity of transactions.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and dedication to excellence.
- A quick learner and self-starter who acts independently, directs one’s own work, and can handle diverse tasks quickly and accurately within a high-pressure environment.
