Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is looking to add to our Accounting Operations team and has a new opportunity for an Accounting Receipts Analyst I. This position is responsible for processing payment receipts, ensuring payment application accuracy with adherence to company policies within expected timeframes. This position also serves as a point of contact addressing and resolving inquiries related to payment receipts, conducts research to ensure proper application of payments, performs daily account reconciliation, and performs cashiering duties in the company cafeteria.

Compensation
$23.00 - $27.30
Non-exempt Grade 12

The compensation range for this role is a good faith estimate, it is estimated based on what a successful candidate might be paid. All offers presented to candidates are carefully reviewed to ensure fair, equitable pay by offering competitive wages that align with the individual's skills, education, experience, and training. The range may vary above or below the stated amounts.
What you’ll do
- Process and balance all payment receipts in a timely and accurate manner.
- Conduct research using various systems to ensure proper processing of receipts.
- Perform daily reconciliation of premium payments, refunds, and electronic payments.
- Download, review, and distribute bank statements on a daily basis to appropriate departments.
- Cashiering duties in the company cafeteria, including balancing daily receipts.
- Initiate ACH transactions securely and efficiently according to established processes and procedures.
- Identify and document system issues and propose enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Research and respond to payment receipt related inquiries from customers and other internal departments.
What you need
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 0-2 years working experience in a banking, cashiering, or related operations environment.
- Normal office environment.
- Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in processing payment receipts with problem solving skills to address and resolve outstanding issues.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good understanding of financial controls and risk management.
- Knowledge of banking transactions and related processes.
Bonus if you have
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred
- Previous experience with accounting software and systems highly preferred
