Compensation
$83,280 - $99,000
Exempt Grade 16
- Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas offers excellent competitive compensation with the goal of retaining and growing talented team members. The compensation range for this role is a good faith estimate, it is estimated based on what a successful candidate might be paid. All offers presented to candidates are carefully reviewed to ensure fair, equitable pay by offering competitive wages that align with the individual's skills, education, experience, and training. The range may vary above or below the stated amounts.
What you'll do
- Partner with Human Resources and leadership to develop and implement Employee Relations strategies and initiatives aligned with organization's goals
- Perform employee relations investigations in a systematic and consistent fashion, and analyze investigations to identify future remediation activities
- Institute systems that result in effective, open, credible and professional working relationships with employees, executives, HR business partners and peers to promote and accelerate a positive employee relations environment
- Provide guidance, support, and training to leaders and employees on HR-related matters including but not limited to policy guidance, disciplinary actions, conflict resolutions, benefits, recruitment etc., referring more complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations including EEO, ADA, FMLA and FLSA
- Prepare special audit and control reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
- Investigate and manage all unemployment claims to ensure the timely and accurate handling of claims processing
- Conduct developmental follow-up sessions on HR-related topics such as harassment prevention, conflict resolution, etc.
- Support the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
- Develop, implement, and monitor early warning systems to flag workforce trends that may require intervention
- Other duties as assigned
What you need
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or other relevant field of study
- Minimum 3 years of Human Resources related experience
- In lieu of degree, minimum of 6 years of proven experience in Human Resources roles with a solid understanding of employment laws and regulations
- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolutions skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with tact and discretion
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement employee relations programs and initiatives that support a positive work culture
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficient technical background in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
