Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is looking to add to an Environmental Services Technician to our Facilities team. This position will Maintain a safe and clean work environment for employees and visitors of BCBSKS.
This position is scheduled Monday-Friday, 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Compensation
$16.54 - $19.60
Non-exempt Grade 9

The compensation range for this role is a good faith estimate, it is estimated based on what a successful candidate might be paid. All offers presented to candidates are carefully reviewed to ensure fair, equitable pay by offering competitive wages that align with the individual's skills, education, experience, and training. The range may vary above or below the stated amounts.
What you’ll do
- Vacuum all carpets.
- Clean restrooms and replace paper towels, hand soap, toilet paper and seat covers.
- Clean drinking fountains.
- Dust mop and wet mop stairways and halls.
- Clean elevators including lighting fixtures.
- Wash and spot wash walls.
- Dust ceiling vents, light fixtures as assigned and workstations as requested by supervision.
- Empty wastebaskets and remove trash from assigned areas.
- Strip/spray buff/dry buff flooring as assigned by supervisor.
- Must be able to position yourself to stoop, bend, stretch, inspect objects in high places, be in a stationary position, vacuum, and move arms for up to 5 hours at a time.
- Must be able to move up to and including 30 lbs.
- Read and understand direction labels on products and chemicals used.
- Must be able to use cleaning compounds/supplies on a daily basis.
- Remove and transport cardboard and or cardboard boxes from work areas to recycle area.
- Dust tops of workstation panels.
- Dust tops of files, cabinets and windowsills.
- Carry out any assigned tasked as requested by supervisor/manager.
- Must comply with corporate compliance program.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function as defined by policy.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
- Must comply with and implement corporate information security policies, standards, and guidelines relative to access control.
- Perform all cleaning assignments or various tasks requested by supervisor/ management.
What you need
- Ability/knowledge of use of various equipment and cleaning compounds associated with the job.
- Ability to read and comprehend the operating/usage instructions of chemicals and equipment.
Bonus if you have
- GED or vocational training in commercial housekeeping preferred.
- At least 6 months previous work-related experience preferred.
