The County Engagement team at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) works to develop local relationships and a comprehensive understanding of all 100 North Carolina counties to provide the best service and support to agencies, organizations, and individuals.
The Senior Territory Engagement Advisor focuses on being actively involved with a cohort of North Carolina counties. This individual will prioritize developing and maintaining relationships with community leaders to understand county composition, needs and priorities as well as supporting alignment with Blue Cross and Blue Cross NC Government Market segments' (Medicaid, Medicare, and Federal Employees Program) goals and initiatives in those counties. This individual will operate as the main point of contact for different community leaders throughout their designated counties as well as overseeing the design, implementation, and delivery of processes, programs and policies.
The ideal candidate for this role will have a proven track record of engagement and program management within their local community.
Approximately 80% of the time in this role will be spent in the community and the role will require travel throughout the assigned cohort of counties: Currituck, Camden, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Chowan, Gates, Hertford, Bertie.
Candidate must live in one of the counties listed above.
What You'll Do
Develop and execute strategic, community-focused initiatives that advance Blue Cross NC's brand and business objectives, member outreach, retention activities, etc. Strategies will include but are not limited to maximizing accessibility and quality health care for community members.
Collaborate with principal program managers for public health and faith-based initiatives to implement strategies at the local level.
Collaborate with other business-facing divisions to achieve business objects and curate accurate health plans.
Train and lead entry level County Engagement teammates as needed to help guide them and create a team of highly skilled professionals.
Build and implement programs to create better ways for Blue Cross NC to benefit and enhance relations with the local community. Work to understand emerging issues regarding health care.
Communicate about work happening at the county level regularly using through reporting and internal communication vehicles.
Manage policies and procedures, and oversee projects and program, ensuring deliverables and objects are met.
What You Bring
Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)
5 years of experience in related field
In lieu of degree, 7 years of experience in related field

Ability to own and make needed decisions to ensure the successful resolution of all issues, problems and changes within the program that do not alter or defer significantly from the agreed upon milestones and major deliverables.
