Department Overview
Enterprise Support Services function is to provide complete operations and maintenance service support so that our physical facilities (buildings, equipment, machinery, systems and grounds) may operate at an optimum. Optimization of our facilities will promote and ensure safe, clean, and compatible working conditions for employees. Enterprise Support Services activities include building maintenance and repair, office space planning and associated move coordination, leasing administration (building / property), construction project management and Physical Security. This area also assists with corporate office moves, reconfiguration projects for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama and affiliate companies.
Primary Responsibilities
The Senior Maintenance Technician position installs, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains building equipment and structures according to safety, preventive and predictive procedures and processes to support the achievement of the business goals and objectives. Senior Maintenance technicians are required to read and comprehend blueprints, service manuals, operations manuals and applicable code books. Senior Maintenance Technicians will also supervise junior Maintenance Technicians as needed on Preventative Maintenance, Corrective Maintenance and Special Projects. Senior Maintenance technicians will utilize computers to answer emails, input payroll information, take online training, work with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), research work related information on the internet and use smart phone / device for keying / logging time and utilizing facility Work Order system.
Summary of Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ESCO Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certified Universal Refrigerant Qualification, Electrician's License, Plumbing License or in lieu of certification and license, 7 years' of relevant facilities experience performing electrical, plumbing HVAC or construction work
- Five years of experience in commercial or industrial facilities maintenance
- Experience in troubleshooting and repair of equipment
- Experience using hand tools and power equipment
- Experience in commercial or industrial facilities maintenance
- Valid government issued driver's license and driving record clear of offenses
- Willingness to work in confined spaces and / or on elevated platforms and ladders
- Must be willing to lift boxes and or equipment weighing 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of building codes (electrical, plumbing, Heating / Ventilating & Air Conditioning [HVAC], and building)
- License, Degree or certificate from technical college or Trade School preferred
- HVAC experience strongly preferred
Work Location
The work location for this position will be full-time onsite.
