What We Need
The Data Governance Analyst is a critical support role in executing BCBSMA's data governance framework. This position focuses on ensuring data quality, compliance, and proper documentation while promoting adherence to governance standards. The Analyst will work closely with data stewards, data owners, and other stakeholders to maintain data governance processes and facilitate operational tasks. This role requires attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to support data governance initiatives.
Your Day to Day
- Assist in developing, maintaining, and updating data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
- Support data governance committees and working groups by preparing materials, taking meeting minutes, and documenting action items.
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation for data governance processes and related activities.
- Track and report on data quality metrics, identifying gaps or inconsistencies.
- Collaborate with data stewards and data producers to implement corrective actions for data quality issues.
- Perform basic analyses to ensure data meets governance standards and organizational requirements.
- Support the ongoing maintenance of the enterprise data catalog and business glossary.
- Ensure metadata and classifications are updated and accurate for all data assets.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with data governance policies and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and HITECH.
- Support risk assessments related to data governance activities and recommend mitigation actions.
- Help create training materials to promote awareness of data governance standards.
- Assist in delivering training sessions and maintaining communication channels for governance updates.
- Assist in defining and tracking KPIs for data governance success.
- Generate reports and dashboards to share progress with stakeholders.

Salary Range : $101,700.00 - $124,300.00
The job posting range is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs and affordability.
This job is also eligible for variable pay.
