Our IT Solution Architect will define, design, develop and deploy technology architecture frameworks and solutions to ensure consistency, quality and architectural integrity.

Required Education (must meet one of the following) :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or closely related field of study or equivalent work experience (Two years' relevant work experience is equivalent to one-year college)
  • International Degree equivalency
  • Applicable certification(s) as defined by the leader 2 years additional experience
  • Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or closely related field of study 2 years additional experience

Required Experience : 5-7 / years' technical experience in multiple, diverse technologies and process environments, ideally including experience in an IT Architect role. Preferred experience also includes :

  • Designing scalable, secure, and compliant healthcare payer systems
  • Understanding of claims processing, provider networks, member enrollment, regulatory compliance (HIPAA, HITECH, CMS, FHIR and Interoperability)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS), enterprise integration (APIs, HL7, FHIR, X12 EDI) and modern architectures (microservices, event-driven architecture)
  • Knowledge of healthcare data security and privacy principles in healthcare
  • Primary Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business partners to understand requirements and translate to specific applications, data, technology, or business process designs.
  • Design end-to-end solutions that incorporate and integrate with existing systems, third-party applications, and emerging technologies with focus on scalability, reliability, cost effectiveness, compliance and security.
  • Evaluate the impact of changes or additions to IT systems and / or IT infrastructures.
  • Work with Enterprise Architects to ensure solutions align with enterprise architectural standards, guidelines and corporate strategies.
  • Create and maintain architectural diagrams, solution documentation and technical specifications. Facilitate review and approval.
  • Monitor technological advancement to ensure that solutions are continuously improved, supported, and aligned with industry, company standards, and emerging business requirements. Evaluate and recommend innovative technologies for healthcare use cases.
  • Act as a technical advisor for a variety of stakeholders, providing insights into strategy and architectural decisions.
  • Provide recommendations on tools and languages used for implementations.
  • Drive continuous improvements in solution design processes and methodologies.
  • Provide technical guidance to engineering teams on the use of automation and infrastructure as code practices.
  • Lead workshops, proof of concepts, and pilot implementations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve architectural implementation issues during the project lifecycle.
  • As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for Architect I is $104,413 to $156,620); Architect II is $128,646 - $192,969. The position is eligible for an annual incentive bonus (variable depending on company and employee performance). The pay range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, internal equity, geography, business or organizational needs, and alignment with market data. At Blue Cross of Idaho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for the position. Compensation decisions are dependent on factors and circumstances at the time of offer.
