Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Accountant with a solid background in industry accounting to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have four years of accounting experience and be skilled in managing the month-end close process, preparing financial statements, conducting account reconciliations, ensuring internal control compliance, and performing financial statement analysis. This role is critical in maintaining the integrity of our financial data and providing actionable insights to support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Month-End Financial Close:
• Lead and manage the month-end close process, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and completed in a timely manner.
• Prepare and post journal entries related to accruals, prepayments, and other month-end adjustments.
• Review and validate financial data for accuracy and completeness.
• Financial Statement Preparation:
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP or IFRS (as applicable) and company accounting policies.
• Account Reconciliation:
• Perform reconciliations for all general ledger accounts, including bank reconciliations, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, ensuring accurate and reliable data.
• Internal Control Compliance:
• Maintain and enhance internal control processes, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations as needed.
• Financial Statement Analysis:
• Conduct variance analysis to explain differences between budgeted and actual results.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
• Prepare reports and present insights to management to support informed decision-making.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Minimum of four years of relevant accounting experience in an industry setting.
• Proficiency in accounting software Microsoft and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong understanding of GAAP or IFRS and experience with internal controls.
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
Working Conditions:
• Full-time, hybrid. Located in Phoenix.
