What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at Blue Diamond Industries?
Blue Diamond Industries is in search of a Material Handler for its Clinton, SC plant. This role is a full-time, permanent position that will ensure that materials needed for producing company products are stocked safely and correctly while adhering to Blue Diamonds policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for understanding material being used on each line and throughout facility.
- Ensure that material on board is what is at each line.
- Corelate with Team Lead and/or Supervisor for use of any regrind.
- Change material as instructed.
- Make sure that spool is changed when low and have back up spools ready as needed.
- Keep area clean of debris and orderly and keep eye out for potential safety hazards.
- Clearly understand and follow safety protocol for handling material.
- Keep forklifts in good condition by conducting inspections at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Skills and Specifications Required:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Understanding of PPE and the importance of safety.
- Ability to work under minimum supervision.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to understand oral and written instructions.
- Must have 2-3 years Forklift experience and be able to pass a BDI forklift training test.
Physical Requirements, with or without accommodation:
- Regularly required to stand and walk for long periods of times during a shift.
- Must be able to occasionally lift, push and pull 50-100 lbs.
- Must be able to work in a factory setting.
