What are the responsibilities and job description for the Reel Builder position at Blue Diamond Industries?
Blue Diamond Industries is in search of a Reel Builder for its Clinton, SC plant. This role is a full-time, permanent position that will build reels for pipe correctly while adhering to Blue Diamonds policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring that the correct reels (size, quantity) are built during shift.
- Make sure that reels are weighed, and that weight is recorded on placard.
- Once complete take reels to correct line or store in assigned area.
- Responsible for ensuring that all materials and supplies are stocked for shift.
- Keep area clean of debris and orderly and keep eye out for potential safety hazards.
- Clearly understand and follow safety protocol for building reels.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Skills and Specifications Required:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Understanding of PPE and the importance of safety.
- Ability to work under minimum supervision.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to understand oral and written instructions.
- Ability to push, pull, and manipulate reels.
- Must have 2-3 years Forklift experience and be able to pass a BDI forklift training test.
Physical Requirements, with or without accommodation:
- Regularly required to stand and walk for long periods of times during a shift.
- Must be able to occasionally lift, push and pull 50-100 lbs.
- Must be able to work in a factory setting.
