Blue Elephant Wayne is seeking skilled and passionate food runners to join our opening team! The ideal candidate is friendly, detail-oriented, and hospitality-driven, with a passion for crafting high-quality beverages and providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
General Requirements:
- Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff for seamless order delivery.
- Knowledge of all dishes on the menu, to be able to identify them, and to know their ingredients.
- Set up and maintain the expo area, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and adequate stock.
- Break down and clean the expo area nightly, following sanitation guidelines.
- Oversees and ensures quality/presentation of plates from line to the dining room.
- Oversees the timing of dishes so coursing is in accordance with orders sent.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and food safety guidelines.
- Assist with additional tasks, including table bussing and restocking supplies.
- Maintain a professional appearance as per the restaurant's dress code.
- Attend and participate in team meetings and training sessions.
- Preps, maintains and manages station before, during, and after shift; making sure all condiments, garnish, cutlery, and additional tools are fully stocked.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in a high-volume restaurant.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Previous experience as a Runner or server assistant in a full-service restaurant.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation.
- Strong customer service skills and a friendly demeanor.
- Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Punctuality and reliable attendance.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
