This position provides leadership to the Fulfillment and Warehouse/Material Management departments as well as Facilities Maintenance. This position has responsibility to oversee order fulfillment and shipping processes. Will oversee order tracking processes and ensure orders are processed in accordance with BFG’s customer service standards. Ensures adequate inventory levels are maintained to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize costs. We perform meaningful work that impacts the lives of those who risk it all to save ours.
Major Responsibilities
General
- Manages Warehouse and Fulfillment operations and personnel and ensures KPI’s and procedures are followed.
- Develops and executes operational strategies and vision for Fulfillment and Warehouse/Material Management functional areas.
- Ensures that standards for product quality, equipment, and employee performance are maintained and that cost effective technology is used to maximize efficiencies.
- Initiates recommendations for new equipment and improvements.
- Organizes the repair and routine maintenance of all Fulfillment, Shipping, and Warehouse equipment.
- Implements and ensures that standard operating procedures are always followed.
- Develops, monitors, and reports on operating costs within functional areas.
- Supervises and manages the daily activities and performance of fulfillment and warehouse personnel.
- Develops KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) and goals for fulfillment and warehouse personnel.
Fulfillment
- Plans, organizes, and develops schedules to provide the required level of orders picking, packaging, and shipping finished goods for all projects and product lines.
- Monitors processes, adjusts schedules as needed, and ensures that products are picked, packaged, and shipped in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Minimizes cost impacts and maintains transportation system on domestic and international freight that ensures business needs are met.
- Ensures Blue Force Gear Policy of “Every Order-Every Day” is followed.
Warehouse
- Plans, organizes, and develops schedules to provide the required level of packaging for finished goods for all projects and product lines.
- Manages receiving of inbound goods and materials.
- Oversees the planning and organizing of receiving, storage, and distribution of all materials and supplies.
- Ensures all BIN locations are properly labeled and maintain 100% Scanning Efficiency.
Inventory Control
- Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions.
- Maintains correctly balanced inventory levels on all purchased materials and supplies to prevent out of stock conditions and cash flow problems related to inventory.
- Works closely with Marketing, Sales, and Product Development to properly forecast new product timelines and sales.
Facilities
- Oversees all building functions to include maintenance and repair.
- Negotiating bids and contracts for third party workers
- Coordinating with department heads and building contractors
- Planning building maintenance and operational programs
- Ensuring all the utility systems are inspected and in accordance with regulations to include but not limited to Fire Suppression System
Educational Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, materials management, industrial technology or related field is required.
Previous Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role and experience as a production, manufacturing, materials management, logistics and/or supply chain manager/director.
- Know of production and manufacturing processes and techniques; quality standards; fulfillment; shipping, materials management; warehouse; and sewing machinery.
- A proven track record of successful project management and continuous improvement skills.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, process improvement techniques, and Six Sigma a plus. Tactical gear/textile knowledge is preferred.
- ERP, preferred Microsoft Dynamics, BC, experience 3 years
