Shady Cove Marina and Resort, a premier waterfront destination in Castalian Springs, TN, is seeking a dedicated and proactive Assistant Manager to support the General Manager in overseeing daily operations. The Assistant Manager will play a key role in ensuring exceptional guest experiences, supervising staff, and maintaining the high standards of our marina and resort. This position is ideal for an organized, hands-on leader with a passion for hospitality and a desire to grow in a dynamic, seasonal environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operational Support: Assist the General Manager in managing daily operations, including boat rentals, docking services, lodging, dining, and recreational activities.
• Staff Supervision: Support the recruitment, training, and scheduling of staff, including marina workers, hospitality team members, and maintenance personnel, ensuring a cohesive and motivated team.
• Guest Services: Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest needs, resolving issues, and assisting with inquiries to enhance satisfaction and encourage repeat visits.
• Financial Assistance: Help monitor budgets, track expenses, and support revenue-generating initiatives under the direction of the General Manager.
• Facility Upkeep: Conduct regular inspections of marina docks, boats, accommodations, and grounds, reporting maintenance needs and assisting with coordination as required.
• Marketing Support: Assist with promotional efforts, including event coordination, social media updates, and local outreach to attract guests and boost visibility.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety protocols, boating regulations, and resort policies, reporting any concerns to the General Manager.
• Inventory Assistance: Help manage inventory for marina supplies, food and beverage services, and retail items, ensuring adequate stock levels.
• Team Collaboration: Act as a liaison between staff and the General Manager, fostering open communication and a positive workplace culture.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in Business, Hospitality, or a related field (preferred but not required).
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory or assistant management role, preferably in hospitality, marina, or resort operations.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to support and motivate a team.
• Basic financial knowledge, including experience with budgeting or expense tracking.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to interact with guests and staff effectively.
• Familiarity with marina operations, boating, or outdoor recreation is a plus.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, especially during peak seasons.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with reservation or property management software is an advantage.
• Physical ability to assist with operational tasks and conduct site walkthroughs as needed.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience supporting event planning or group bookings.
• Knowledge of Tennessee boating regulations or safety standards.
• Enthusiasm for waterfront lifestyles and guest-focused service.
