What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technician position at Blue Grass Pest Management?
Summary
Pest control technicians are responsible for removing unwanted creatures such as rats, rodents, insects, cockroaches, bugs, and ants from an infested environment or building. The pest control technician should be able to identify any potential pest and design an effective control strategy for them. He/she will be responsible for identifying, selecting, mixing, and applying chemical or manual solutions to eliminate the pests.
Customer service aspects include being timely, answering questions, making recommendations, collecting payment, and other various needs.
Primary Responsibilities
· Inspect property for signs of pest infestation or pests
· Identify invading pests, including rats, termites, ants, spiders, bed bugs, fleas, or other pests.
· Determine the type of treatment needed to eliminate the pests.
· Apply chemical solutions or use traps or baits to remove or kill pests.
· Ensure safety procedures are followed for applications and reentry.
· Keep service vehicle organized, professional, and clean.
· Maintain professional appearance including clean uniform, appropriate footwear, and maintain personal hygiene.
· Build positive, strong relationships with clients. Make suggestions to clients on how to avoid pest problems when appropriate.
Requirements
· Background check, drug screen, COVID vaccination preferred, clean driving record
· High School Diploma
· Must be 18 years of age or older
· Must possess physical stamina and be able to withstand harsh conditions as the nature of the job requires standing for a long period of time and working in an uncomfortable environment.
· Must be detailed oriented and be able to follow detailed instructions in applying pesticide to avoid harm to the client and self.
· Must be able to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues and possess good interpersonal skills.
· Must have good organizational skills.
· Work flexible schedule as required to meet client expectations, including occasional weekends and evenings.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
