Job Summary : The Treasurer is the custodian of all money belonging to the Blue Hills Regional Technical School District. It is the Treasurer's responsibility to make provision for adequate funds to fulfill all current obligations. The individual must manage the funds of the District so that all obligations such as payroll, accounts payable, payment of bonds and notes, and other remittances can be paid on a timely basis. Key Responsibilities : 1.The Treasurer receives, disperses, and accounts for all monies belonging to the District. 2.The Treasurer maintains appropriate cash journals reflecting the details of all receipts, disbursements and cash balances. 3.He / she provides for adequate funds for current obligations, including safekeeping of all funds and issuing of all long-term and short-term debt. 4.The Treasurer invests funds to ensure maximum yield on investments while maintaining adequate availability of cash. 5.The Treasurer is responsible for the closing and reconciliation of all cash accounts. 6.The Treasurer must maintain professional competence through professional development activities. 7.Attend all District School Committee meetings 8.Keep currently informed on banking practices, interest rates and economic conditions 9. Perform any other related duty as required or assigned
