Responsibilities
- Prepare and operate CNC machines (lathes & mills) to perform tasks such as cutting, drilling, grinding, milling etc.
- Read and understand blueprints and all supporting documents, to understand part dimensions and tolerance requirements before making any cuts to part. Understand what is required to correctly adjust machine offset (if needed) to ensure part is within tolerance.
- Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function
- Safely prepare and load parts and material into the machines
- Confirm set-up is correct, start machine and observe machine operation to detect possible malfunction prior to machine run.
- Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce the requested result
- Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
- Responsible for the output of quality parts produced on CNC lathes and mills in a safe and timely manner.
- Maintain all required production and quality logs.
- Ensure tooling and fixture at machine is maintained and stored in orderly fashion.
- Keep machine and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance function on equipment.
- Perform other work-related task as assigned to maintain the efficient operation of the company.
- Comply with all Blue Jax Company, HSE and QMS policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Proven experience as CNC operator
- Experience cutting API Rotary Connections (preferred)
- Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
- Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
- A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach
- Good communication abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Quality Control experience is an asset.
- Manufacturing experience is an asset.
- Oilfield experience, either in the field or in a service facility is an asset.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $35.00 per hour
