Blue Jay Academy is a private school for children with special needs and disabilities from grades K through 12. Serving Volusia County special needs students, Blue Jay Academy is a progressive school for children who struggle with any type of disability or special need. We work with children that have various special needs, including ADHD, Autism and Processing Deficits.

Blue Jay Academy takes a child centered approach with the whole family. We work with Halifax Behavioural Center, the Domestic Abuse Council, DCF, and Community Partnership for Children. In addition, we have partnered with the UCF CARD agency in order to provide our families with continuing resources in our community.

Who Are We Looking For?
We are looking for a Bus Driver to join our team! You will be responsible for safely
transporting children and staff on field trips, to and from school, and other locations. You will ensure the bus is regularly maintained and safe for driving under all applicable state and municipal regulations!
What You'll Do :
Establish routes, schedules and procedures with the school director to maximize safety for the children.
Observe all Department of Motor Vehicle rules and regulations and make sure all speed limits are observed.
Complete a daily inspection of the bus, a weekly inspection of tires, oil, blades, etc. and report all bus maintenance issues to the Director.
Ensure the bus is clean and has an adequate amount of fuel to complete the trip.
Ensure the safety of the children at all times.
What You Bring to the Table :
e a minimum 21 years of age.
- Certification & Education
Valid FL Drivers License.
Have and maintain a safe and violation free driving record.
1 year experience driving a bus in a licensed childcare setting.
Possess CPR and First Aid certification.
Pass a Background Check.
Shift
Ability to work for Position 1, Monday-Friday.
