JOB SUMMARY
Supervises and coordinates shift activities of the Blue Lake Casino’s Security Department. Conducts criminal and Worker’s Compensation investigations, and patrols casino and casino grounds to maintain order, enforce regulations, ensure observance of applicable laws, and provide customer service by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversees duties of security officers on assigned shift, observes officers in the performance of their duties to evaluate efficiency and to detect and correct inefficient work practices.
- Demonstrates and explains methods of guarding the assets of the casino, providing excellent customer service, and techniques ensuring the safety of the guests and employees.
- Conducts investigations of reports of criminal offenses, suspicious activity, employee and guest injuries.
- Prepares detailed reports concerning matters investigated.
- Contacts guests of casino to promote customer service.
- Prepares written evaluations of officers as assigned.
- Analyzes security needs.
- Searches installation for explosive devices.
- Performs routine security duties.
- Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises five to twenty employees in the Security Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years’ related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a Blue Lake Gaming License. Must possess valid California Drivers License. Must pass DRE class provided by Company. Within 120 days complete basic first aid and CPR class provided by Company.
