Position Summary:

The Videographer will work under the direction of the Creative Director. They will consult with the Creative Director to understand the vision, requirements, and purpose of the video projects. They will manage the planning and production of video projects as a team member for the purpose of recruitment, professional development, storytelling, and community relations. Work includes creating high-quality video content consistent with the brands mission and strategic goals using a combination of sophisticated techniques and professional experience; operating digital cameras, lighting and audio equipment on location; exercising independent creative judgment and technical expertise in shooting video; collaborating with a team of creators, leadership, and internal and external clients to create high-quality videos that will be seen in online ads, social media, streaming television, and other mediums.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited College or University in the area of videography.
  • 2 years of professional videography experience (preferred)
  • 5 years of experience in similar role (preferred)
  • Adobe Premiere and After Effect experience is necessary
  • Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator experience (preferred)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced technical and creative knowledge in DSLR and Digital Cinema camera operation
  • Advanced technical knowledge in video and audio capture
  • Advanced technical and creative knowledge in environmental and studio lighting techniques
  • Advanced comprehension of a complex Digital Asset Management System
  • Ability to work with agility and effectiveness within complex projects and under tight deadlines
  • Good working knowledge of visual effects and color grading
  • Creative and technical problem solver.
  • Creatively plan and translate abstract concepts into effective visual form
  • Work with other technical and non-technical staff to organize and implement filming of instructional or other educational related projects
  • Work with stakeholders and talent to be comfortable in front of the camera
  • Advise staff on effective media communication practices, adapt video products to fit needs of staff and target audience
  • Explain various principles of video to clients
  • Develop and optimize workflow techniques to manage complex video projects effectively and efficiently
  • Troubleshoot video product complications
  • Perform basic repairs on video/photo equipment
  • Write and speak clearly, concisely and effectively
  • Meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
  • Research and remain current on the developments and applications of state of the art video production technology

Job Duties

  • Create and develop multimedia (audio/video) content for campus stories, internal company announcement videos, external promotional social videos, product marketing videos, recruiting videos, corporate training and other enterprise-wide projects
  • Maintain institutional brand through consistent application of appropriate graphic identity markers in all video and photo production
  • Travel and setup equipment for filming on location
  • Occasionally work on nights and/or weekends when necessary
  • Scout locations, schedule and make necessary arrangements for shoots
  • Create high-quality products by deadline that meet the client’s vision and strategic goals
  • Meet accepted standards of video production and if relevant photography
  • Operate equipment and lighting with creative expertise; clean, maintain, and ensure the security of equipment.
  • Translate market research into effective creative strategies with collaboration from other team members to meet set goals.
  • Follow proper procedure for editing and archiving of images.
  • Juggle multiple tasks; plans ahead; manage time effectively
  • Maintain accuracy and timeliness in all aspects of this work.
  • Keep supervisor and/or team leader aware of any situation that may require proactive management, i.e. situations that may attract positive or negative attention to the organization.
  • Properly maintain equipment and keep an orderly and organized operation; participate in and contribute to creation of better office systems.
  • Treat confidential information with extreme care.
  • Carefully use resources of the office; practice economy without sacrificing quality.
  • Work independently, as well as part of a team to establish project deliverables
  • Collaborate closely with internal staff and stakeholders to help facilitate the creation of multimedia content
  • Record video and sound projects, including selecting program format for final output, capturing/importing media, organizing raw media, editing footage and sound files, creating and inserting static and motion graphics, titling, adding music/voice-over/sfx, media management and archiving project media
  • Refrain from presenting problems without suggesting solutions.
  • All other duties as assigned
