On-Call Position
Blue Man Group Orlando is looking for on-call Video Technicians.
The Video Technician provides show and rehearsal coverage on the Video track as scheduled and may also be scheduled for work calls as needed. The Video Technician is responsible formaintaining and repairing all elements of the show under the Video Department jurisdiction during their scheduled shifts. Strong communication and video knowledge required. All crew positions work cross-departmentally and are not solely restricted to projects within their department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
- Provide show coverage on the Video track;
- Adhere to all Scheduling, Department, and Company procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and as directed by the Lighting & Video HOD. Communicate all scheduling requests and challenges in a timelymanner;
- During the running of the show, perform all duties as outlined on the run sheets (including preset, show cues, turnover, and post-show) in a safe, professional, timely and efficient manner;
- Troubleshoot technical issues as they arise;
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of all technical elements of the show under the Lighting & Video Department jurisdiction;
- Participate in work calls or department meetings;
- Execute general repair, troubleshooting, maintenance, and/or restock of supplies and equipment as needed;
- Support systems for the maintenance, cleaning, and organization of workspaces;
- Adhere to safety rules and regulations for locality and department;
- Support gigs, trainings, rehearsals, and marketing events;
- Participate in load-in and load-out and lend assistance to other departments as needed;
- All other work-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

- The ability to work effectively in a team environment is required;
- Extensive experience and knowledge of video systems and running shows is required, as well as technical run crew and some rigging;
- Theatrical video experience preferred, but not required;
- Organizational skills a must;
- Knowledge of Lighting/Electricssystems is a plus;
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, with the ability to handle technical issues swiftly during a live show;
- Adhere to and promote all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations as they pertain to the safe operation of all elements related to the show; participate in all required health and safety classes and emergency rescue procedure training;
- Contribute to a safe and positive working environment at all times by adhering to and following all Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group standards, values, policies and regulations pertaining to safety using equipment and established working methods;
- Assist other departments when necessary for cross-departmental support;
- At least 2 years of previous experience, or in a similar environment;
- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications;
- Bachelor’s degree in Digital Arts or a similar field; or equivalent relevant work experience;
- Ability to obtain OSHA 10 course completion card;
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken; Ability to clearly and effectively communicate viaheadset;
- Availability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays;
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job including, but not limited to: climbing, crouching, kneeling, standing, lifting, sometimes for extended amounts of time; lifting at least 50lbs, working with limited to no visibility; Full list of essential functions will be sent in the offer. This is an on-call hourly position, eligible for overtime and 401K. This compensation is location-specific and compensation in other geographies may vary. Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided upon elements related, but not limited to: skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.
