What are the responsibilities and job description for the Camp Activities Supervisor position at Blue Mountain Resort?
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: We are seeking friendly, reliable outdoor enthusiasts, & strong leaders to supervise a team and provide a high-quality recreation experience for the Blue Mountain Adventure Camp guests. The Summer Camp supervisor position oversees coordination of daytime activities and events for counselors and campers. They schedule and supervise staff hours, breaks, and schedules as well as assist with coordination between departments at Blue Mountain. WHAT YOU BRING TO THE POSITION:
- Strong leadership skills and accountability
- Enthusiasm for the outdoors and recreation
- Enjoys planning and supervising group activities and events
- Detail oriented and strong organizational skills
- Possesses the ability to work both within a team and independently without direct supervision
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Extraordinary ability to provide outstanding guest service
- Takes initiative and can delegate to ensure all necessary tasks are done daily
- Willingness to work with the Camp Manager to handle disciplinary matters with staff, if issues arise.
- Ability to handle difficult situations with campers and communicate effectively with camp leadership team and parents
- Ability to handle behavioral events with campers and staff fairly and effectively
- Previous experience with children in an educational or recreation setting is a plus
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:
- Staff scheduling and payroll weekly. Coordinates and plans any specialist breaks throughout the week, working with the Staff Supervisor when applicable.
- Oversees all daytime campers & assists staff during daytime hours
- Communicates with parents to address concerns and help with any special accommodations or requests
- Work with other related departments to ensure clear, written communication and plans are established (ie food and beverage, lift operations, summit aerial park staff, etc)
- Maintains detailed program records, including various logs and incident reports
- Consistently enforces all safety guidelines and procedures
- Oversees disciplinary action when needed in conjunction with the Camp Manager and other Camp Leadership
- Daily check-in and pick-up point person to ensure a good relationship & open communication with campers & their families

IMPORTANT DATES FOR THE 2025 CAMP SESSION:
- June 12th - 13th: High Ropes Course Training- attendance expected
- June 16th – 20th: Camp Counselor Training Week- attendance mandatory
The camp session dates are as follows. Camp Supervisor must be able to work ALL weeks outlined below, Monday through Friday:
- June 23rd – June 27th
- July 7th – July 11th
- July 14th – July 18th
- July 21st – July 25th
- July 28th – August 1st
- August 4th – August 8th
- August 11th – August 15th
