What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mountain Resort Electrician position at Blue Mountain Resort?
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: We are seeking a punctual, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is excited for an opportunity to provide a guest with an experience that is beyond their expectations and creates guests for life. This individual will join our growing maintenance team and help ensure electrical needs of Blue Mountain Resort.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience as an electrician or similar role necessary.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, particularly when working in a fast-paced environment or under pressure.
- The ability to work both independently and with a team.
- Ability to work in various weather elements.
- An understanding of technical drawings.
- Strong, effective written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to be on call.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must be 18 years of age.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:
- Conduct regular inspections of all electrical systems (both indoor and outdoor), and equipment to identify any issues or potential hazards. Perform routine maintenance tasks and repairs to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Creates repair strategies and plans for items in need of service.
- Respond promptly to electrical emergencies and troubleshoot issues as they arise. Diagnose electrical problems and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Maintain and repair electrical components of the resort's snow-making equipment, including pumps, compressors, and control panels. Ensure that snow-making systems operate efficiently. Troubleshoot automated snowmaking system when needed.
- Assist in conducting annual training programs for new electricians and employees from various other departments.
- Maintains records for repairs and inventory.
- Forecasts and prepares cost estimates for new supplies/systems as needed.
- Coaches and guides junior staff as directed by immediate supervisor.
- Attends staff meetings as required.
