As part of a passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of rocket engine components at our new, state of the art facility in Huntsville, Alabama. The Manager will lead a group of integrated engineers in day-to-day execution of critical path. This position will be responsible for Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule and Morale for the Blue Ring and Tube Shop teams. This is a hands-on position that requires versatile leadership, effective communication, and strong project management skills. In this hands-on leadership role, you will have an impact on all aspects of producing accurate rocket engine components, enabling first article success, high quality and on time delivery of tight tolerance, high value parts. The permanent location of this position is Huntsville, Alabama. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. This shift is primarily Friday thru Sunday Day shift.

Responsibilities:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Blue Ring and Tube Shop and associated equipment
Provide mentoring, training and skills development for team members
Promote and inspire teamwork and employee morale
Promote and ensure workplace safety
Develop and monitor department metrics (Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule, OEE)
Perform critical administrative activities including recruiting, performance reviews, coaching, resource planning and budget management
Maintain machine shop schedules to ensure internal delivery targets are met
Collaborate with team members to address capacity and scheduling conflicts
Drive process improvements to reduce setup times and machining times
Establish, maintain and improve workplace 5S and FOD controls
Provide status updates on hardware deliveries at daily schedule meeting
Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained and calibrated
Qualifications:
5-7 years of management experience
Knowledge of proper cutter selection with appropriate materials
Excellent communication skills with a strong customer focus
Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement
Fluent in use of precision hand tools
Proficiency in business/office computing software
Familiarity with non-conformance systems
Self-motivation and ability to prioritize projects to meet completion dates
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion

Desired:
Previous experience in a production start-up environment
Demonstrated experience in planning, forecasting and capital equipment procurement and/or upgrades
Ability to obtain TS Clearance
Knowledge and understanding of precision measurement techniques and equipment
Ability to work cooperatively with teams of diverse skill levels
