This role is part of the Lunar Transportation business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, you will apply your Mechanical Engineering expertise, natural leadership and organizational skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact the bold missions at Blue Origin. You will work on the full life cycle of key hardware components for Blue Origin's Lunar Transportation program.

You will be responsible for the development of Composite Overwrapped Pressure Vessels that will be used for gas storage on multiple spacecraft in Blue Origin's Lunar Transportation program. You will develop requirements, produce detailed designs, oversee analysis, and support manufacturing and test of a number of pressure vessel designs. You will also work to ensure design simplicity and commonality across different products and produce roadmaps for design and manufacturing improvements that will benefit future customers. Throughout the life cycle, you will manage Technical Performance Metrics, safety products, and interface control documents. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Negotiate and generate requirements, working with multiple stakeholders and customers
• Produce detailed designs of pressure vessels
• Work with stress analysts to analyze hardware and feed results back into design
• Support manufacturing and test of pressure vessels
• Produce roadmaps for product design and manufacturing improvements
• Understand customer needs and look for future design improvements
• Manage Technical Performance Metrics, safety products, and interface control documents
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar
• 2 years experience with composite structures through all phases of development
• Experience working on highly engineered products in rapid development environment
• Experience working with other project members to drive progress toward milestones
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• M.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical subject area
• 2 years of experience with Composite Overwrapped Pressure Vessels through all phases of development
• Previous customer facing roles with experience presenting to and directly interacting with customers
  
  

Compensation Range For

CA applicants is $140,959.00-$197,342.25;WA applicants is $140,959.00-$197,342.25
