Blue Owl Compliance operates on a central compliance model with subject matter experts organized into teams covering Marketing & Distribution, Investment Compliance, and Strategy & Operations. Each team has sub-disciplines, that contribute to the overall effectiveness of the department.
The Blue Owl CCO is seeking a senior compliance professional to join her leadership team as the head of its Strategy & Operations team. This individual will operate as the COO of the Compliance team as well as one of her deputy CCOs.
The Strategy & Operations team consists of approximately 10 employees responsible for M&As integrations from a compliance perspective, regulatory new office builds, ESG, cybersecurity, training, compliance monitoring, expense allocations, policies, privacy, regulatory filings and vendor risk, among other areas (outside of marketing & distribution and investment compliance).
This role will oversee the operational aspects of the Compliance function and support the Global CCO with -
1. Developing and Implementing Compliance Programs: Design and manage comprehensive compliance programs to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory standards. This will include working with our partners throughout Blue Owl in establishing Blue Owl’s regulatory footprint in jurisdictions outside the US and integrating M&A targets into the Blue Owl compliance infrastructure.
2. Risk Management: Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, and develop corrective action plans for resolution.
3. Policy Development and Monitoring: Create and update compliance policies and procedures to reflect current laws and regulations, execute the compliance monitoring program to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements and oversee the implementation of new rules and regulations.
4. Training and Education: Conduct training sessions for employees to promote compliance awareness and understanding.
5. Reporting: Maintain a calendar of regulatory reporting or other deliverables. Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management and regulatory bodies.
6. Administration: Managing the Human Capital administrative aspects of the team including recruiting, continued professional development and establishing system and controls, including the implementation of technological solutions, to ensure the team is working efficiently and effectively.
7. Ad hoc projects: Working with the CCO or others on the team to complete special projects.
8. Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to integrate compliance into all business processes.
