Blue palms Health and Rehabilitation Center of DeLand is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Admissions Coordinator/Medical Records to join our team in the Health Care Center. As an Admissions Coordinator/Medical Records, you will play a key role in facilitating the admissions process for patients, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience for all involved. You will also be required to work closely with medical professionals and staff to ensure the accuracy of medical records and provide assistance when needed Your ability to communicate effectively, problem-solve, and work in a fast-paced environment will greatly contribute to the success of our admissions department.
Responsibilities
- Manage the admissions process for incoming patients, including coordinating with doctors, nurses, and other medical staff to ensure all necessary information and documentation is gathered.
- Conduct interviews and assessments of patients to gather relevant medical history and other pertinent information.
- Collaborate with insurance representatives to verify coverage and coordinate payment arrangements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring that all information is entered into the system correctly.
- Communicate with patients and their families to provide updates on the admissions process and answer any questions or concerns.
- Collaborate with other departments within the hospital to ensure a smooth transition for patients and provide follow-up care as needed.
- Maintain and organize medical records, ensuring they are properly labeled and stored
- Update and file medical records on an ongoing basis
- Retrieve medical records as requested by medical professionals and staff
- Review medical records for accuracy and completeness
Requirements
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, ideally in admissions or a similar role.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with patients, healthcare professionals, and insurance representatives.
- Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of electronic medical record systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures.
