Hiring: Full Time Embryologist / Embryo Transfer Technician (Veterinary)
We are seeking highly skilled and dedicated Embryologist/Embryo Transfer Technician to join our team. You will be working directly with experts in the field of Veterinary Embryo Transfer. Salaried Position dependent upon education, training, and experience.
On the job training will be provided, we primarily search for an individual that is self-driven, detail oriented, and willing to learn and has some degree of experience with cattle and small ruminants.
Required Qualifications:
-Significant experience around large animals (specifically bovine, ovine, & caprine)
-Highly organized and detail oriented
-Meticulous, focused, patient and possess a high degree of technical aptitude
-Self-starter who takes initiative and manages time wisely
-Prompt and reliable
-Ability to work well under pressure
-Ability to handle delicate and sensitive materials with care
-Excellent communication and customer service skills
-Works effectively and efficiently in a team as well as the ability to work effectively independently
-General knowledge about animal physiology and reproduction
Physical Requirements/Work Conditions
-Physical stamina to work long hours, often under challenging conditions while handling large livestock.
-Ability to sit for extended periods of time behind a microscope
-Travel with veterinarian will be required
-Some overnight travel during seasonal busy times
-Flexible working hours (30-60 hrs/wk depending upon season)
-Ability to work in variety of environments
Minimum Education Requirements
- 4 year degree or Veterinary Technician Degree OR equivalent practical experience
Job Responsibilties:
-Embryo searching, grading/staging, freezing for conventional flushes of bovine and small ruminants
-Embryo and semen thawing and handling
-Embryo and semen inventory management
-Perform veterinary technician duties on the road and in clinic
-Assist in quality control and lab/equipment cleanliness
-Assist with lab inventory management
-Maintain good laboratory technique and follow up lab protocols
-Maintain accurate and detailed records of collection and transfer procedures including database entry
-Follow company policies and procedures and maintain a professional image
-Other duties as assigned by doctors and management
When overnight travel is required; travel expenses associated with the requirements of this position are covered by the employer.
