What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kitchen Coordinator position at Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare?
Are you have experience managing the day to day operations of a kitchen? BRBH is hiring for a Kitchen Coordinator!
Pay Range: $12.14-$18.21/hour
The Kitchen Coordinator is responsible for meal preparation and planning for clients on the Crisis Stabilization/Detox unit.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting clients with meal services as needed
- Responsible for all aspects of food preparation, servicing, clean-up and complete oversight of kitchen
- Assure compliance with nutritional guidelines, licensure standards and health department regulations
- Ordering and purchasing items for the kitchen
- Complete menu planning, purchasing, properly storing and inventorying food on an ongoing basis
- Plan menus, order food, store food, maintain food inventory, bakery, and good bank to ensure needed quantity and quality food is available
- Turn in bills for requisition
- Cook and prepare meals, ensure meals are served on time
- Clean kitchen maintaining sanitation, good storage, cleaning, standards to ensure kitchen meets Virginia Health Department guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned, consistent with agency policies and procedure
Requirements:
- Education: High School Graduate or GED
- Experience: Minimum of one (1) year experience in overall operation of the commercial kitchen.
- Safe Driving Record: This position requires being eligible to drive agency vehicles, so candidate's driving record must have no more than two moving violations in the last three years and no criminal violations in the last five years.
- Physical requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will often sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, crawl and reach above their head. Use of hands for placing and pulling objects. The employee frequently lifts and or carries up to 50 pounds and pushes or pulls up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (driving). Specific hearing required by this job includes normal tones.
- Background Check: Candidates will be required to submit to a fingerprint criminal background check and drug screen.
