Licensed Eligible Starting Pay: $24.09/hour. Licensed Starting Pay $31.09/hour. Additional compensation commensurate with experience.

BRBH is seeking a Substance Abuse Therapist in Forensic Services to provide services to individuals participating in substance abuse and/or co-occurring counseling. These individuals could be those involved with probation and parole, recently released from incarceration, or others seeking to gain additional support.

Therapists conducts outpatient individual and group counseling, treatment planning, evaluation and assessment, case management, crisis intervention, behavior modification and records documentation. Services are mainly provided on an outpatient basis; on as need basis candidate may need to complete assessments in a jail setting.

What We Are Looking For

The successful candidate will have knowledge of counseling, be comfortable working independently in an outpatient environment, and be a team player. We are also looking for individuals that would like a unique schedule, especially evening.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Master's degree in a human services field that fulfills the criteria for registration as a Resident in Counseling or Supervisee in Social Work in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Experience: A working knowledge of the criminal justice system is a plus!
• Licenses/Certifications: Required to pursue licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Virginia. LPC or LCSW Preferred.
• Safe Driving Record: Safe driving record required (no more than two moving violations in the last three years and no criminal violations in the last five years).
• Background Checks: Candidates must be able to pass background checks including those required by the local jails.
