Blue Ridge Cardiology and Internal Medicine is seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist for a full-time position in our Internal Medicine Practice in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina.
Successful candidate will be experienced in checking in and out patients, handling phone calls and assisting patients in an outpatient medical practice.

The following clerical skills/experience are Required:
- Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting them in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
- Optimizes patients' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments according to the needs of our providers and the practice.
- Keeps patient appointments on schedule by checking in patients, collecting copays, and notifying provider of patients arrival.
- Contacts patients who do not show up for their scheduled appointment and reschedules for a future date.
- Comforts patients by anticipating patients' anxieties; answering patients' questions; maintaining the reception area.
- Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating demographic and insurance information at each visit.
- Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information; recording and collecting copays and payments to patient accounts.
- Helps patients in distress by responding to emergencies.
- Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA at all times.
- Maintains operations by following all policies and procedures.
REQUIREMENTS
- Outpatient physician office experience required
- Excellent organizational, telephone and communication skills
- Excellent leadership and teamwork skills
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be able to work well with the public and provide excellent customer service
- Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a potentially stressful environment
- Ability to apply common sense understanding when carrying out detailed written or oral instructions
- Ability to establish and maintain positive, effective, and professional relationships with patients, providers, coworkers, and superiors
- Possess knowledge of office equipment and computer software programs
- Basic computer skills
- Maintains a positive attitude, willingness to work as a team, and a strong work ethic
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required
