Blue Ridge Community College (BRCC) is seeking a business faculty member and program coordinator to teach and maintain the A.A.S. Business Management degree and Career Studies Certificates, including the A.S. Business Administration transfer program. This is a full-time, 9-month, 24-pay position.

As a Teaching Faculty member:
The position includes teaching business courses within traditional classroom, hybrid, HyFlex, and online instructional environments—with a focus on a strong pedagogical approach and quality student learning assessments. The position also includes participation in institutional development such as service and leadership on college committees, academic advising, and mentoring adjunct faculty within the discipline.
As a Teaching Faculty member:
The position includes teaching business courses within traditional classroom, hybrid, HyFlex, and online instructional environments—with a focus on a strong pedagogical approach and quality student learning assessments. The position also includes participation in institutional development such as service and leadership on college committees, academic advising, and mentoring adjunct faculty within the discipline.
The selected candidate will also participate in scholarly engagement, professional development activities, and community service to both the BRCC campus and the local service region.
As Program Coordinator:
Leading Full-time Faculty in recruitment/training, textbook selections, syllabi/ instructional support, program scheduling, program objectives design, learning outcomes development, and work environment oversight.
Leading Students by recruitment/retention support, Outreach/Career Services partnerships, student/graduate placements, collegiate references/job recommendations, academic advising, transfer transcripts evaluations, Credit by Exam (CBE) or Credit by Portfolio (CBP) examinations, Student Services placements support, Program Adjustments approval, and students/faculty issue resolution guidance.
Working Alongside Administration by coordinating discussions with the Academic Dean regarding prerequisites/minimum competencies, teaching credentials, curriculum evaluation/proposals, catalog changes, departmental procedures/practices, program budgets, VCCS task force initiatives, program adjustment requests, VCCS Peer Group planning/meeting, and coordinate internships.
Leading Adjunct and Dual Enrollment Instructors through recruiting, interviewing, and reviewing applications; coordinating sessions with the new dual enrollment instructor and critical college departments; provide appropriate orientation; oversee syllabi/course development, book orders, and class/lab observations.
Creating New or Changing Current Program(s) by developing/proposing new curriculum, coordinating Curriculum Advisory Committees, conducting needs assessments, participating in development of articulation agreements.
Scheduling and Assessing Programs by developing a set of Program/Student Learning Outcomes and maintaining a curriculum map, scheduling classes, labs, and/or review course offerings, staffing courses, evaluating projected enrollment and course section needs, and evaluating course offerings by appropriate modality.
Managing Program Information by reviewing catalog and verifying discipline course lists and descriptions; and updating current curriculum.
Additional responsibilities include service to the college (including committee work/governance), and participation in community organizations and activities; and participation in scholarly and professional activities. Also, may be required to perform other duties as assigned.

- Master’s degree in the business or business-related discipline OR Master’s with 18 graduate semester hours in business or business related field
- Experience using various forms of technology and the ability to learn new ones
- Ability to teach students effectively and create lessons plans
- Passion for the field of business and for teaching
- Ability to use creativity, innovation, and compassion to instruct and engage students
- Ability to teach a diverse student population
- Community college or university teaching experience in the classroom, hybrid, HyFlex, as well as synchronous and asynchronous online modalities
- Taken graduate-level statistics or quantitative methods courses
- Teaching experience in statistics or quantitative methods
- Documented track record of innovation in the classroom, teaching, and soft skills
- Academic program management experience or program management equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others
