BRCC is accepting applications for a part-time instructor to teach in our heavy equipment operator program. This program is specifically focused on helping individuals gain the skills needed to operate heavy equipment used in the construction industry.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
Do you have experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes or bulldozers? Are you passionate about helping others learn a new skill? BRCC is looking for someone with professional experience who can share their knowledge with students who may have limited knowledge on how to operate heavy equipment. Due to the nature of the industry and the need for individuals to build upon their learning, classes are structured so that students can quickly develop the foundational skill set required to begin working for a company under supervision on actual equipment in the field.
The program involves both classroom instruction and hands-on training with simulation equipment. Working at the direction of the program head, this position will ensure an orderly and professional atmosphere while performing instruction covering safety concepts necessary to operate heavy equipment in addition to the actual operation of the machines using high-end simulators based on Caterpillar controls. Position will administer end of course assessments allowing students to earn a nationally recognized credential through the National Center for Construction Education and Research.
This is a part-time wage position limited to 1500 hours in 12 months; with no health benefits.

- Teach between one and four classes annually based on student demand and college need
