Certified Nurse Assistant/Classroom Aide-Part-Time

Position Title: Certified Nurse Assistant/Classroom Aide
FLSA: Non-Exempt Hourly Part-Time $20.00 per hour

Reports to: Principal

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certificate
• CPR and First Aide certification
• Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by AZ DPS
• Para Pro Certificate (can be obtained through our school)
• Experience working with children preferred
• Ability to work with sutdents with diverse needs in a compassionate and patient manner
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
• Ability to learn methods and procedures to effectively help children with their
• learning.
• Basic knowledge of computer programs for documentation and reporting
• Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students, staff and
• parents.

JOB GOAL:

To assist the teachers in providing a well-organized and effective
classroom environment where students may take full advantage of the instructional
program.

Work Environment:

• The CNA/Classroom Aide will work primarily in the classroom, special education resource rooms, and occasionally in the school’s health office.
• May be exposed to communicable diseases and other conditions in the school setting, following district health and safety protocols.

PERFORMANCE RESONSIBILITIES:

• Support students needs by implementing positive behavior strategies
• Medications schedules, watching for signs of seizures and proper use of medical equipment.
• Safety of Medically fragile children.
• May come in contact with bodily fluids while caring for students.
• Diapering, feeding, potty training, hygiene.
• Full time supervision of students.
• Communication and cooperation with teachers and parents
• Paperwork/documentation as requested by teachers.
• Escorting students to and from the buses.
• Other duties as assigned.
