Press Operator II (assists Press Operator I)
Seeking candidate to work with automatic screen printing presses. Day shift hours are 8am - 4:30pm. Full-time preferred.
- Proven experience as a screen printing operator or similar printing or production environment experience.
- Must be a positive and reliable team member.
- Must work well with a team, be quality focused, and above all be flexible and adapt well to evolving and high production environments.
- Providing quality control by inspecting printed goods.
- Attention to detail to ensure orders are printed correctly and on a timely basis.
- Read and interpret a Work Order very accurately.
- Communicate with other employees.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to work under pressure to output high volume, high quality work.
- Regularly lift 35-40 pounds. Ability to lift 50 or more pounds.
Responsibilities
- The operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining screen printing presses to produce high-quality printed designs on a variety of materials.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the screen printing process, the ability to troubleshoot issues, and a commitment to maintaining high production standards.
- Set up the screen printing press, including installing screens, adjusting tension, and ensuring proper alignment for accurate printing.
- Mix inks to the correct consistency and color for the print job.
- Operate the screen printing press to transfer designs onto materials, ensuring consistent and high-quality prints.
- Adjust settings such as speed, pressure, and ink flow to ensure optimal print quality.
- Perform multi-color printing, aligning each layer of ink for accurate registration.
- Monitor print runs for any errors or quality issues, making real-time adjustments to ensure high-quality output.
- Quality Control.
- Conduct regular checks on the screen print process to maintain accuracy and prevent printing errors.
- Perform touch-ups or reprints as necessary to ensure the final product meets quality standards
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting.
- Regularly clean screens, printing equipment, and workstations to maintain a tidy and efficient work environment.
- Troubleshoot issues with equipment, inks, or printing processes and resolve them promptly to minimize downtime.
- Report any major technical problems to the Production Coordinator and/or Head of Operations for repair.
- Track material usage and notify management when supplies need to be reordered.
- Ensure that all materials (e.g., screens, inks, substrates) are stored properly and are readily available for production.
- Safety & Cleanliness.
- Follow safety protocols when handling inks, chemicals, and operating machinery.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required (e.g., gloves, safety glasses, etc.).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
