What You'll Do:
Performs duties of a dental hygienist by completing dental prophylaxis; providing oral radiographic studies; charting conditions of decay and disease; performing procedures in compliance with dental standard practice. Responsibilities include:
- Completes dental prophylaxis by cleaning deposits and stains from teeth and from beneath gum margins.
- Responsible for the preparation and setting up of materials necessary for each procedure.
- Detects potential disease by using probes to locate periodontal disease and assess levels of recession
- Assist in managing dental emergencies
- Mechanical polishing of the coronal portion of the teeth
- Application of desensitizing agents
- Whitening of the coronal portion of the teeth using tray-based systems; including the application of a dam if required for these tray-based systems
- Application of desensitizing agents
- Responsible for following all OSHA Standards, sterilization of instruments, and the cleaning and routine maintenance of the clinic and equipment.
What We're Looking For:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification/Licensure Specific Requirements: Must Maintain CPR Certification Dental Radiology Certification
- Knowledge of dental terminology
- Bilingual preferred, but not required. If bilingual, provides language support services, as requested, based on patient and clinic needs.
