We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant with experience in bookkeeping, payroll, and retirement services. Key Responsibilities:
- Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate financial records ensuring all transactions are recorded timely and correctly in the accounting system.
- Payroll Processing: Assist in payroll for employees, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Process payroll accurately, including tax calculations, deductions, and adjustments.
- Retirement Services: Assist the broker in managing and administering retirement plans (such as 401(k) or pensions) and helping employees with their retirement-related inquiries.
- Data Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, errors, and opportunities for improvement. Prepare reports and summaries to present findings to management.
- Spreadsheets Management: Work extensively with spreadsheets to manage, track, and report on financial information, ensuring the accuracy of all data entered and maintained.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the accounting team, providing support and collaborating on projects to ensure the successful completion of tasks.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in bookkeeping, payroll processing, and retirement services.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis and working with spreadsheets (Excel or similar).
- Ability to work independently and efficiently while remaining a collaborative team player.
- Highly organized with attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Motivated and proactive with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of accounting software and payroll systems (experience with QuickBooks, or similar platform is a plus).
- Must be a resident of the Tri-Cities area (TN).
