We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Acute Care Registered Nurse PRN to join our team at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital. Our hospital is a community-based healthcare provider serving Mitchell, Yancey, lower Avery and upper McDowell counties.
Job Summary
The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality patient-centered care in collaboration with medical providers. The RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care, serves as an advocate for patients, and supports an unparalleled patient experience.
Responsibilities include assessing patient condition during admission and each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status, performing procedures or functions as ordered by the medical provider, documenting the administration of care in the patient medical record, administering prescribed medications and monitoring response, and maintaining knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
Required Qualifications:
- One year of hospital nursing experience preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enrollment in a BSN or advanced degree program with a BSN within 5 years of hire date into RN position; grandfathering accepted between departments and Mission Health entities
- Masters in Nursing preferred
- Current licensure as a registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing; eNLC license may apply
- BLS Healthcare Provider certification required; national certification in area of specialty preferred
