JAIL OFFICERS
NEW SALARY INCREASE: $46,331 - After 1 year $48,444
BENEFITS PACKAGE: Stable work environment, 12-hour shifts, state employee benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance. VRS retirement, 12 sick days and 12 vacation days, 14 paid holidays the first year of employment and paid overtime, etc. Uniforms and training are provided by BRRJA.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary responsibilities are the care and security of inmates
MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a U. S. citizen, 18 years of age or older, high school graduate or equivalent, and have a valid Virginia driver’s license. Drug screenings and extensive background checks will be performed. Must complete basic jailor training as required by the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services within twelve (12) months of employment.
NEW STARTING SALARY: $46,331 ($48,444 after one year)
