Mechanic II

Position: Mechanic II

FLSA: Hourly non-exempt

Full Time: 40 hour per week

QUALIFICATIONS:   

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• More than two years experience or professional training.
• Must use initiative and judgment in performing job and has responsibility for some equipment, tools, etc.
• Interacts daily with fellow workers.
• Has or is able to obtain Arizona bus driver certification.
• Able to lift at least 50 pounds.

REPORTS TO:  Transportation Supervisor

JOB GOAL:  To provide skilled support services to ensure the safe and efficient operation of school district vehicles.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:   

• ·         Repair and maintains vehicles.
• ·         Maintain vehicle repair and maintenance records.
• ·         Maintain tools, parts and equipment inventory.
• ·         Perform emergency road repairs.
• ·         Keep work area clean and orderly.
• ·         Notify the supervisor of all unusual problems and concerns affecting transportation
• ·         Participate in various training sessions to upgrade related skills.
• ·         Serve as substitute bus driver, as needed.
• ·         Perform other related duties assigned.
