Job Summary
The Senior Automation Engineer at Blue Ridge Inc. will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing advanced automated systems and processes. This position involves leading complex automation projects, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with various teams to identify automation opportunities and develop solutions that align with our strategic goals and company values.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Development: Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced automation solutions for various processes, including machine control, instrumentation, HMI, SCADA, control power distribution, and process controls.
- Project Leadership: Manage and oversee complex automation projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and quality standards.
- Mentorship: Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior automation engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify automation needs and develop tailored solutions.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation-related issues promptly.
- Documentation: Document automation processes, procedures, and system configurations for future reference and compliance purposes.
- Testing and Validation: Conduct rigorous testing and validation of automated systems to ensure they meet performance and quality standards.
- Industry Standards: Ensure all projects adhere to relevant industry standards, including S88, UL 508A, and CSIA, through regular audits and evaluations.
- Design, develop, and optimize batch processing systems to improve efficiency, consistency, and product quality.
- Optimize liquid and material flow in batch processing systems by applying fluid and thermal dynamics principles.
- Ensure CIP systems are optimized for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with hygiene and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and quality teams to integrate CIP and batch processing systems emphasizing performance analysis and providing improvement recommendations based on key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Develop and update process documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process flow diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Provide technical support and training to operators, technicians, and other staff to ensure procedures are followed.
- Monitor industry advancements and contribute to the implementation of new technologies and best practices.
Job Requirements
7-10 years' experience in automation and control systems with a proven track record leading and managing complex automation projects from inception to completion.
