Behavioral Health Specialist
Location: Big Bend, Texas (Marfa)
Starting Salary: $85,000/annual (W2) / $50/hour (1099)
Hours:12-Hour Shifts (Day & Night Shifts Available)

Blue Rose Consulting Group, Inc. (Blue Rose), is seeking an Onsite Behavioral Health Specialist in Big Bend, TX (Marfa), where you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and mental health of children in DHS custody along the U.S. Southwest Border.
About the Role:
As a Behavioral Health Specialist, you will work onsite in DHS processing centers, providing trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and professional guidance to support children in federal custody. You will collaborate with facility staff, assess child well-being, and contribute to policy improvements that enhance child protection services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a point of contact for facility staff regarding child well-being matters.
- Provide professional guidance on trauma-informed care and behavioral health interventions.
- Conduct facility rounds to assess child well-being and identify potential concerns.
- Support crisis intervention, de-escalation, and coordination of emergency care.
- Assist in decision-making for complex child well-being concerns, including medical, psychological, and developmental needs.
- Collaborate with CBP, HHS ORR, NGOs, and healthcare providers to coordinate care.
- Engage with children proactively to provide emotional support and reduce distress.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance child-friendly environments.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation of behavioral health support.
Qualifications:
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in behavioral health.
- Full, current, and unrestricted license in one of the following:
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW or LICSW)
- Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
- Licensed Psychologist (LP)
- 2 years post-licensure experience in child development, trauma-informed care, and clinical evaluations.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred (minimum ILR 3/5 or equivalent).
Experience working in a multidisciplinary, team-based environment.
Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced setting with evolving program needs.
