Summary
- A behavior intervention specialist (BIS) helps people with mental health or developmental disabilities by creating and implementing treatment plans.
Responsibilities
- Development and implementation of interventions that teach new skills and/or reduce interfering behaviors
- Ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of the intervention, with modification made as necessary to maintain and/or increase both the effectiveness and the efficiency of the intervention
- Utilize evidence-based, safe & appropriate handling, guiding and prompting procedures
Qualifications
- Must have a Master's Degree in Social Work /ABA/ Special Education/Psychology or related field
- At least 1 year experience as a Behavior Intervention Specialist or experience with students with ASD
- Reliable and consistent
