Overview:
- This is a Paraprofessional Independent Contractor position assigned to cases within our partnered school districts, with most case assignments on site at one location.
- Majority of paraprofessional cases occur during the school day, days and times may vary (typically between 7:00-3:00 PM, Monday-Friday).
- After School cases do occur at some locations (varying days, typically between 2:30-3:30 PM)
- Entry level and advanced level training for this position is available for qualified candidates.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience working 1 on 1 with Adults or Children
- High School Diploma
- Own transportation to get to and from assigned cases not accessible to public transportation in Nassau and Suffolk County
- Willingness to completed offered compensated training based on experience level
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with children on the Autism Spectrum and/or with mental health challenges
Responsibilities:
- Support students in their day-to-day
- Assist student in transitioning from one activity to the next
- Help students understand and complete assignments
- Implement Behavior Intervention Plan, if one is in place
- Assist and facilitate appropriate peer interactions
- Provide positive reinforcement
- Assist teachers in implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 6 – 15 per week
